• I am working on a campaign to promote creative use of technology among disadvantaged people worldwide – to give them an opportunity also to fulfill their own basic social needs and become part of the global village of the 21st Century.
• Since the advent of new communication technologies the society of today has been transformed into a form of digital spectacle with New Media increasingly used as a platform to interact and transact.
• This has resulted in the creation of new perimeters for cultural development, social networking and business activities, whereby, the mediums and applications such as, Web sites including Brochurware, Corporate blogs and wikis, Email and attachments, Electronic kiosks,Interactive television, Mobile devices, Podcasting, Hypertext fiction, Streaming audio and video, Chat rooms, E-mail, Online communities, Web advertising, DVD and CD-ROM media, Virtual reality environments, Integration of digital data with the telephone, such as Internet telephony, Digital cameras and Mobile computing are playing a major role.
• Unfortunately, not everyone is a benefactor, as many disadvantaged people across the globe are still lagging behind. But to break and conquer this barrier, practical solutions are needed which would involve education and material support to promote a fair go and the opportunity for everyone to participate.
